Hi, I'm Desirée! Photographer, traveler, dog mama to Brooklyn and Boston, and wife to my favorite human, David. Born in LA and shaped by my time in New York, I now run Photos By Dee full-time, capturing love and the magic of the universe. When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me rolling around in the sun with my pups, exploring new coffee shops with my husband, diving into all things astrology, or simply romanticizing the still, quiet moments life offers.

Loving people has always been my superpower.
I love hard, photograph harder.
Every shoot is a love story, whether it’s a wedding, a family dancing in the kitchen, or a mama-to-be glowing at golden hour. My photos aren’t just posed, they’re felt.
I chose red as my brand because it’s how I show up in the world. Heart-first, fully present, and a little impossible to ignore. It’s more than a color. It’s a whole way of being.
If you ask anyone who knows me, they’ll probably say the same thing: I feel everything, and I love hard. I’ve always been that way — curious, warm, a little too invested in strangers’ love stories.
Maybe it’s the Pisces in me, but I’ve always loved big. People, moments, places, you name it. Being a photographer lets me fall in love over and over again: with stolen glances, happy tears, loud laughter, and awkward couples who end up looking like Vogue spreads in front of my lens.

and it changed everything. From digital to film, to learning how to develop a photo and even learning photoshop... this is officially what sparked the match. This is how I learned how to properly use a camera.
I took a photography class
in yearbook club, 7th and 8th grade. I didn’t know it yet, but I was already falling in love with the way stories lived in photographs. That spark carried me through four years of high school, always behind the lens, always documenting.
I found photography
I’d whispered to myself for years. I launched Photos By Dee and began capturing love stories, milestones, and memories that would outlive us all.
I started living the dream
from my corporate job and finally stepped into myself. One day later, I flew to Oregon for my first photography retreat.
and now based in Whittier, still showing up in red, still falling in love with the people I photograph. This isn’t just a business.
It’s my whole heart, on display.
