There is something special about shooting at University Club two days in a row. Same venue. Same weekend. Completely different love stories. And this elegant Summer wedding in Irvine closed out the weekend in total style!
The day before, I photographed Lauren and Elliot. You can see their big day here! The very next day, I was back for Dominique and Reis. I had never been to this venue before that weekend. Then suddenly, I felt like I knew it so well! And what a great venue! Click here to see their website! I highly recommend for any other California couple looking for an elegant space.
Dominique and Reis first inquired with me in April, and they officially booked their July wedding date with me! Getting to celebrate their day felt like such a full circle moment.
So let me show you that day!
The morning felt calm and joyful. Dominique got ready in the beautiful bridal suite, surrounded by her closest girls. Her look was timeless and romantic. A fitted lace gown with delicate detail. Soft waves cascading over her shoulders. The sweetest pearl accents. I was obsessed!
Reis spent the morning in the groom’s room with his guys. He wore a crisp white tux jacket with black lapels and black trousers. Yes, he kept his Converse on for part of the day and I loved that touch of personality too!

They chose not to do a first look for this day. Instead, they saved that moment for the aisle. I’m seeing that more with my couples, and I love seeing you reclaim traditions that work for you!
Their ceremony took place outdoors by the gazebo on the lawn at University Club. The summer light was absolute perfection. Literally my dream as a Southern California photographer!
When Dominique followed her flower girl down the aisle, you could feel the emotion shift. Reis’ reaction said everything. It was sweet and tender and completely them.

After the ceremony, we slipped away for newlywed portraits on the lawn while guests made their way into the ballroom. The ivy-covered walkways and golden light gave us the most romantic backdrop. It was a quiet little moment just for the bride and groom to enjoy that “omg we just got married” glow. I absolutely love this part of the day for every wedding I get to photograph.

They made a grand entrance to their reception with sparklers. They were met with loud cheers from their guests. It was time to party.
It came together SO cohesively and looked amazing in the ballroom at The University Club.
She looked just as amazing in her second look as her first.
They did a bouquet toss. Cut the cake. Jumped into the photo booth. Laughed nonstop. It was the kind of party you know they will remember for the rest of their lives.
