When you’re getting married, you want photos that reflect not just this beautiful season life as fiancés… but also who you are. As a Southern California wedding photographer, it’s my job to help you craft a unique couples session idea that feels so authentic.
I first met these two in January 2024 when Garrett planned the most unforgettable surprise proposal.
He planned a rose-petal aisle, bordered with candles overlooking the ocean. Cue Marianna grinning from ear to ear the second she realized what was happening.
From that moment, I knew these two were something special. There was just something so magnetic about their love.

Fast forward to August 2025, and we were back together for another session. This time, it was all about celebrating the life they have built together..
Marianna had recently become Dr. G, DDS. Garrett continues serving his community as a firefighter. Both of them have worked so hard for where they are.
She wore her white coat, and he brought his firefighter uniform and gear. We met up near the ocean, right in those last moments of the day when the sun is the most golden. We wandered, laughed, talked… and captured their true life they’re busy living.

If you’re wanting to create photos that feel really authentic to your story, start by including things that you actually use in everyday life.
The sweetest part of the whole evening was watching how proud they are of one another. It was so apparent in their whole gallery. Find yourself a love like these two, friend!

One of my favorite things about photographing couples is helping them create a session that feels personal. Your engagement photos do not have to look like everyone else’s. (In fact, I love when they don’t!!)
If you love to paint, let’s set up an easel in a field.
Or maybe you have a favorite coffee shop you two go every Sunday: let’s go there!
Bring your pups. Bring your career.
That is what makes your gallery meaningful.
[And if you’re looking for a photographer who understands the assignment, reach out to me here! I’d love to capture your story too]
